New mill MM3 with 180 rpm direct drive motor debuting on my cake day Close 289 Posted by u/BeerAmandaK 4 years ago Archived Finally got fed up with my Barley Crusher and bought a Monster Mill 3 with 1/2 shafts Coupled it to a 1/2 hp motor with a gear reducer to get it down to 180RPM Went with the standard giant hopper from Aug 20 32 You still need to reduce the motor speed from rpm to 200 rpm Are you also using a gear reduction in your direct drive Or do you have a slow motor already for direct drive I just received my motor from surplus center and inside they had a flyer with 75 1 gear reducer This would take down to 233 rpm
